Board mum on personnel matter

Brookhaven officials are keeping quiet about a water departmentpersonnel problem following a special city board meetingThursday.
Aldermen met with Water Department Superintendent Lanny Dickeyin executive session for about 30 minutes Thursday. The board tookno action following the closed meeting.
“There’ll be an investigation made between now and Mondaynight’s meeting,” said City Attorney Joe Fernald.
Fernald said he would be meeting with interested parties priorto next week’s meeting, which was scheduled to address anotherpersonnel matter that arose during Tuesday’s regular meeting.
Other city officials did not comment Thursday. There was noindication given of the severity of issues discussed.
“There’ll be a formal report if the board acts on it,” Fernaldsaid.
