Services for the Rev. Clayton R. Hart of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.Saturday, Jan. 1 at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inBethel Temple Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Rev. Hart, 72, died Dec. 29, 2004, at Countrybrook LivingCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Feb. 19, 1932, to FredHart and Mary Rials Hart.
He retired 2 1/2 years ago as pastor of Nola Baptist Church. Hehad pastored churches in Lincoln and Franklin counties. He was a1951 graduate of Fair Oak Springs and went on to attend MississippiState and the New Orleans Seminary. He was a 20 year member of theAir Force and a member of East Lincoln Baptist Church. He wasmarried to Bobbie Hart for 51 years.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and three brothers,Frank Hart, Charles Hart and Harold Hart.
Survivors are his wife; his daughters, Pattie Knight and herhusband, Bob, of Brookhaven, Joyce McKay and her husband, Mike, ofBrandon, and Amy Smith of Brandon; her sons, Clay R. Hart Jr. andhis wife, Debbie, of Bogue Chitto and Clint Hart of Brandon; hissisters, Verna Tucker of Pelahatchie, Iva Ruth Davis of Houston,Texas, and twin sisters, Sara Miller of Diamond Head, Miss., andMary Smith of Brookhaven; his brothers, Earl Hart of Fort Worth,Texas, Paul Hart of Madison, Jerry Hart of Pearl, Joe Hart ofMadison, and Jessie Hart of Corsicana, Texas; eight grandchildren;and two great-grandchildren.
