Muncie Dale Kimbriel Smith
Services for Muncie Dale Kimbriel Smith, formerly of Brookhaven,are 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 15, at First Baptist Church withgraveside services at 1:30 p.m. at Prentiss City Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday from 3-5 p.m., at Brookhaven Funeral Home,and from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
Mrs. Smith, 91, died Nov. 12, 2004, at The Orchard in Ridgeland.She was born in Prentiss on Aug. 31, 1913, to John Dale and StellaJohnston Dale.
Mrs. Smith graduated from Prentiss High School. She earned aBachelor’s Degree in Education from Woman’s College in Hattiesburgand began teaching in Drew, where she married Dr. Albert CarterKimbriel Jr. She eventually retired from teaching in Brookhaven andmarried Virgil W. Smith. After retiring, the two traveled theworld.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, Dr.Albert Carter Kimbriel Jr.; and her second husband, Virgil W.Smith.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Cala Kimbriel and Dr.Charles Doolittle of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her son anddaughter-in-law, Dale Michael and Betsy Kimbriel of Jackson; herstepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Richard and Gloria Smith ofGulfport; her grandchildren, John Kimbriel of Brandon, KyleKimbriel of Cordova, Tenn., Hadley and Tate Doolittle of ColoradoSprings, Colo., Alice Smith Walker of Gulfport, Margaret Smith ofBirmingham, Ala., and Joel Smith of Gulfport; and eightgreat-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Brookhaven.
Tommy F. Summers
Services for Tommy F. Summers of Bogue Chitto were 2 p.m.,Saturday, Nov. 12, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMt. Moriah Cemetery.
Mr. Summers, 67, died Nov. 11, 2004, at his residence. He wasborn in Brookhaven on April 19, 1938, to Pearl Summers and Mary LouSummers.
He was a retired road supervisor for Loncoln County. He was amember of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his sister, KaySchffield.
Survivors are his sons, William Boyd Summers of Bogue Chitto andAndrew Michael Summers of Greenwell Springs, La.; his brother,William P. Summers of Ft. Worth, Texas; and threegrandchildren.
