Services for Catherine Smith Franklin of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.today, Oct. 7, at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.
Visitation is today from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Ott &Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.
Mrs. Franklin, 81, died Oct. 5, 2004, at Beverly Health CareCenter. She was born May 2, 1923, to King Lemuel Smith and NonaBell Craig Smith.
She was a longtime resident of Rankin County and had lived inBrookhaven since 1996. She was a member of Allen Chapel MethodistChurch in Brandon.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to allshe knew. She loved life and could always see the best side ofeveryone and everything and lived her whole life with a smile.
Survivors are her daughter, Cathie Twiner and son-in-law DoyleBratton, of Brookhaven; son, Bill Franklin and his wife, Patricia,of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Jeff and Cindy Franklin, bothof Atlanta, Candi Collett of Byram and Dustin Bratton ofBrookhaven; two great grandchildren, Tyler and Carson Collett ofByram; six sisters, Juanita Meek of Morton, Mayola Patrick ofJackson, Naomi Everett of Anchorage, Alaska, Nora Smith of Morton,Nona Brown Norris of Columbia, and Frankie Thompson of Leesburgh;and one brother, K.L. Smith of Charlotte, N.C. She is also survivedby the brothers and sisters of her late husband, Johnnie C.Franklin, who preceded her in death on May 10, 1997.
