Services for D.D. Smith of Brookhaven are 11 a.m., Saturday,June, 5, at Mt. Olive M.B. Church with burial in the churchcemetery.
Visitation is Friday, from noon-6 p.m., at Williams Mortuary andSaturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
Mr. Smith, 82, died June 1, 2004, at Central Mississippi MedicalCenter in Jackson. He was born in Lincoln County on Jan. 1, 1922,to Joe Smith and Louvenia Wells Smith.
He was a retired construction worker. He was an Army veteran ofWorld War II. He was a member of Mt. Olive M.B. Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, GladysBlack, Roxie Kees and Della Mae Jackson; eight brothers, MorantSmith, Tyree Smith, Joe Smith, Lutillius Smith, Woodrow Smith, TroySmith, Pearly Smith and Annisana Smith; and a granddaughter,Mechelle Dee Powell.
Survivors are his daughters, Revelia Powell and Carolyn Crump,both of Brookhaven; his son, David D. Smith of Brookhaven; hissister, Annie Pearl Bradford of Chicago, Ill.; his brothers, McNairSmith Sr., Malco Smith and John W. Smith, all of Brookhaven; hiseight grandchildren; his eight great-grandchildren; and a host ofnieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
