A Bogue Chitto man has been charged with aggravated assault inthe Sunday night shooting of another Lincoln County man,authorities said.

Otis T. Bracey, 20, of 0062 Bracey Trail, was arrested followingthe incident that happened on Highway 51 in Bogue Chitto, saidsheriff’s department Investigator Lance Falvey. Bracey is alsocharged with possession of marijuana.

Orencel P. Lewis, 24, of 387 South St., was shot in the leg andwas in satisfactory condition Monday, Falvey said. The shooting wasreported to authorities at 10:49 p.m. Sunday after Lewis was takenby private vehicle to King’s Daughters Medical Center.

“The motive for the shooting is still under investigation,”Falvey said. “We’re still putting the pieces together on themotive.”

Falvey said there has been an allegation that Lewis robbedBracey. The investigator did not say what was alleged to have beentaken and that aspect of the case was still being explored.

Bracey remained in jail Tuesday but was expected to go before ajudge for a bond hearing sometime this morning, Falvey said.
