Services for Hardie Winborne Wallace of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.,Sunday, Dec. 14, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inBethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto.
Visitation is Sunday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the funeralhome.
Mrs. Wallace, 87, died Dec. 11, 2003, at BeverlyHealthcare-Brookhaven. She was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 16,1916, to Mollie Elizabeth Dunaway Winborne and William TomWinborne.
She was a homemaker, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church andEasthaven Baptist Church. She loved to complete jigsaw puzzles forfamily and friends. She was an avid bingo player while at BeverlyHealthcare-Brookhaven, where she served as president of theResidents Council.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her step-mother,Frances Allen Smith Winborne; her husband, Percy Quinn Wallace; adaughter-in-law, Mary S. Wallace; a step-brother, James Smith; ahalf-sister, Alline McCoy; and two half-brothers, Troy and J.T.Winborne.
Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Omega W. Varnadoand L.A. Jr. of Mesquite, Texas, and Elizabeth W. Smith and JohnRay of Brookhaven; her sons and daughter-in-law, Dempsey Wallace,Dan Wallace and Gail, and Harry Truman Wallace, all of BogueChitto; her half-sisters, Lula Mae Pierce of Dallas, Texas, IreneWatford of Denver, Colo., and Yvonne Herring of Brookhaven; herhalf-brothers, Charles Ray Winborne and Thomas Winborne, both ofBrookhaven; her grandchildren, Robert A. Varnado, Juanita V. Bragg,Andrea W. Case, Robin W. Webb, Beth W. Jordan, Dana W. Ladner,Neisha W. Leggett, Rex Wallace, Scott Wallace, Chad Wallace,Douglas Thames Wallace, Alicia S. Thompson, Belinda S. Rivera,Kelsey Smith, Heidy S. Castille; twenty-two great-grandchildren;one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
