Services for Earl Randall Smith of Brandon, formerly of Wesson,are 2 p.m., Thursday, July 10, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home withburial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Visitation is Wednesday from 5-9 p.m., and Thursday from 11 a.m.- 1:45 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith, 64, died July 7, 2003, at St. Dominic’s Hospital inJackson.
He worked for 44 years in the insurance industry. He graduatedfrom Mississippi State University and then worked for 10 years asan inspector for the Mississippi State Rating Bureau. He alsoworked as the Commercial Lines Manager for Audubon Insurance,formerly New Hampshire Insurance for 33 years, before becoming anunderwriter for the Underwriters Group in 2002. He served as aboard member and past president of the Executive Committee of theMississippi State Rating Bureau Board. He was a member ofMississippi Guaranty Fund Board, Honorable Order of the Blue GooseInternational, 1752 Club, MIUA, Mississippi Capitol Stock InsuranceAssociation and Pioneer Insurance Club.
A loyal fan of the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Smith alsoenjoyed reading and was an avid golfer.
Preceding him in death was his father, Martin Earl Smith.
Survivors are his mother, Mildred Britt Smith of Wesson; hiswife of 32 years, Becky Smith; his daughters, Leslie Hill ofMadison and Penni Smith of Brandon; his son, Spencer Smith ofBrandon; and four grandchildren.
