Alexander High School reunion July 19-21

Plans are being finalized for the 7th Homecoming Reunion ofBrookhaven Colored School alumni and Alexander High School alumni,faculty and staff said.
Events are planned for three days — July 19, 20 and 21 — andinclude a parade downtown that Saturday morning on July 20.
Registration is Friday, July 19, from 3 to 7 p.m. at AlexanderJr. High School. It will be followed by a Gospel Extravaganza at 7p.m. and then class gatherings at the Multi-Purpose Building onBeltline Drive.
The parade begins Saturday morning at 10 o’clock at the downtownpost office and will head back to Alexander Jr. High. BeverlyHoward, of 503 S. First St., should be contacted for additionalparade information.
Following the parade, refreshments will be served at theAlexander cafeteria, followed by an assembly program at 1 p.m. Ashort business meeting will follow.
A worship service is planned Sunday morning at 9 o’clock atAlexander School. It will conclude in time for individuals toattend their services at their respective churches.
A fish fry is planned at 1 p.m. Friday at the Multi-PurposeBuilding.
The homecoming committee is still looking for alumni, faculty,staff and friends who sing to help form a choir to perform at theFriday night Gospel Extravaganza and the Sunday worship service.Those interested should contact Velma Lee, 833-1968; SherryWashington, 833-9708, or Josie Hightower, 833-2146.
Committee members remind those who purchased ads for thesouvenir booklet to send payment. Also, registration fees of $40per person (children age 5-12 is $10) should be made now.
