Services for Kenneth LaRue Smith of Kentwood, La., are 1 p.m.,Wednesday, Feb. 20, at First Baptist Church, Kentwood, with burialin Woodland Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at thechurch. McKneely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Smith, 55, died Feb. 18, 2002, at St. Elizabeth Hospital inGonzales, La. He was a native of Brookhaven.

He was the owner and president of Simco Industries, Inc., inKentwood. He was an Air Force veteran of Vietnam.

Preceding him in death were his father, Hugh V. Smith, and hisstepfather, Jimmy Sims.

Survivors are his wife, Julia Ann Smith of Kentwood; his son,Greg LaRue Smith of Kentwood; his daughter, Sherry Smith Sassone ofOsyka; his mother, Marie Sims of Kentwood; and onegranddaughter.
