Services for Merl O. Scott Sr. of Meadville were 11 a.m.,Saturday, August 18, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with burialin the church cemetery. Franklin Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Scott, 78, died Thursday, August 16, 2001, at his residence.He was born in Franklin County on June 13, 1923, to Rosco C. ScottSr. and Vernon Cotten Scott.

He was a mechanic for Franklin County Schools for 42 years. Hewas a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his brothers, Rob Scott and Rosco C.Scott Jr.

Survivors are his wife, Analo Scott of Meadville; his son, MerlScott Jr.; his daughter, Sue Smallwood of Meadville; threegrandchildren and one great-grandchild.
