Brookhaven product Kelby Bowman has been hired as an assistantfootball coach at East Mississippi Community College. Bowman willcoach offensive running backs on Tom Goode’s staff.

Bowman, a 1996 Brookhaven High School graduate, was a standoutlinebacker at Copiah-Lincoln Community College and BelhavenCollege. After graduation in 2000 from Belhaven, he served as avolunteer assistant at Belhaven for Coach Norman Joseph and taughtin the Jackson Public School System.

Bowman obtained a degree in sports administration from Belhaven.The EMCC Lions start practice Aug. 12 and make their season debutSept. 13, versus Southwest.
