Services for Earl B. Guess of Georgetown are 10 a.m. Tuesday,June 26, at Georgetown Baptist Church with burial in LoweCemetery.
Visitation is Monday, June 25, from 5-8 p.m. at Stringer FuneralHome in Crystal Springs.
Mr. Guess, 73, died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at his residence.He was born in Copiah County.
He was an alderman of Georgetown. He was a member of GeorgetownBaptist Church. He was an army veteran of the Korean conflict. Heformerly served as a Jackson policeman and was later chief ofpolice of Hazlehurst Police Department, a deputy sheriff and servedas sheriff of Copiah County.
Survivors are his wife, Wilma Russum Guess; son, Earl B. GuessJr. of Hazlehurst; foster son, Albert Williamson of Katy, Texas;daughters, Pasty Wayland of Wesson, Cindy McDonald of West Point,Mona Lawrence of Tupelo and Donna Gray of Mendenhall; brother, DurlGuess of Wesson; 13 grandchildren; and fivegreat-grandchildren.
