Services for Rudolph “Doc” Newell Sr. of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Saturday, May 26, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inMt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Newell, 93, died May 24, 2001, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Feb. 14, 1908, to W. D.”Bill” Newell and Martha Newell Newell.

He was retired from Freight Liners in New Orleans. He was amember of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife, MaryWeems Newell.

Survivors are his sons, Rudolph Newell Jr. and Michael Newell,both of Atlanta; his brother, Lee Newell of Wesson; his sisters,Maebell Britt and Blanche Walker, both of Wesson; and threegrandchildren and one great-grandchild.
