Services for Vela M. King of Monticello are 2 p.m., Monday,April 23, at Divide Methodist Protestant Church in Jayess withburial in the church cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. King, 79, died April 21, 2001, at her residence. She wasborn in Lawrence County on Sept. 14, 1921, to Jewitt and MinnieKing Mason.

She was a retired dietician with Lawrence County NursingCenter.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Jesse M.King; and her brother, Clayton Mason.

Survivors are her daughters, Sandra L. Turnage of Monticello andVelma Green of Ellisville; her foster children, Gail Hickey, MarthaAllen, and Vinson Spradley, all of Laurel, and Alma Morris ofPearl; her brother, Jim Mason of Jayess; her sisters, LillianFontenot of Jayess and Vivian Wallace of Tylertown; and fivegrandchildren and one great-grandchild.
