Services for Abe S. Washington of Meadville are 2 p.m.,Saturday, Jan. 27, at Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Kirby with burial inthe church cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 8 p.m. with the wake from7-8 p.m. at Tyler Funeral Home.

Mr. Washington, 43, died Jan. 23, 2001, of heart failure atFranklin County Hospital. He was born in Franklin County on Aug.12, 1957, to Henry Bradford and Janie D. James. He was a graduateof Franklin High School.

He was a teacher’s assistant at Franklin High School and workedas a dispatcher for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department. Hewas a member of New Fork United Methodist Church in Meadville,where he was a member of the choir.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his brothers, Lev Shaw, Rudan Pernell, and AlviePernell, all of Meadville, Mayes Pernell of Jackson, Leon Bradfordand Woodrow Bradford, both of Roxie, Walter Bradford of Ft. Polk,La., and Malcolm L. Bradford of Tampa, Fla.; his sisters, RuthBradford, Vermall Smith, Stacey Rollins, and Inez Dillon, all ofRoxie, Dorothy McClendon of Inkster, Mich., Ruby Brock ofGreensboro, Ala., Sherry Stanford of Huntsville, Ala., and JeanettePernell of Chicago; and a host of nieces and nephews.
