Man killed in car crash

BOGUE CHITTO — A single-vehicle accident in a sharp curveresulted in the death of a Bogue Chitto man Saturday night.
John Kelly Porter, 68, of 1377 Arlington Road, died after thevehicle he was driving left Monticello Road in a 90 degree turn,said Robert Tyler, deputy medical examiner investigator.
“He ran off the road and hit a tree,” said Tyler. “He was therefor some unknown time before being discovered.”
The accident was discovered around 6:30 p.m. The reason Porter’svehicle left the road has not been determined, but he did have ahistory of heart disease and seizures, according to Tyler.
Porter was pronounced dead at 7:55 p.m. at King’s DaughtersMedical Center.
Services are at 2 p.m. today at Brookhaven Funeral Home withburial in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin County.
