J. W. Calcote Sr.
Services for J. W. Calcote Sr. of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.,Thursday, Oct. 19, at Bethel Methodist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.
Visitation is today beginning at 5 p.m. at the church.Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Calcote, 71, died Oct. 17, 2000, of heart failure at BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. He was born in Lincoln County on Feb.27, 1929, to Overton Calcote and Alice Cade Calcote.
He was a farmer. He was a member of Bethel Methodist Church,where he was the oldest lifetime member and had administered thecemetery fund for many years. He was an Army veteran and a memberof the VFW.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his sister, MariePeagler.
Survivors are his wife, Laverne Smith Calcote of Brookhaven; hisson and daughter-in-law, Wiley and Betty Jo Calcote of Brookhaven;and his grandchildren, Kayla Beth Calcote, Todd Bracey Calcote, andAnnah Alyeen, all of Brookhaven, and Chad of Georgia.

Wanda Gail Case
Services for Wanda Gail Case of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Friday,Oct. 20, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inFriendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday, Oct. 19, from 5-8 p.m. at BrookhavenFuneral Home.
Ms. Case, 41, died Oct. 17, 2000, at her residence. She was bornin Laurel on June 23, 1959, to Niles William Peebles and Bradys E.Williamson Peebles.
She was administrative secretary with Southern Hearts Hospice.She was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose, Women of the Moose.She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death was her father.
Survivors are her mother, Bradys E. Peebles of Brookhaven; herbrothers, Niles D. Peeples of Iberville, La., William R. Peebles ofBrookhaven, and Walter L. Peebles of Longview, Wash.; and herfiance, Hank Wallace of Brookhaven.
Wilma Jean Case
Services for Wilma Jean Case of Brookhaven are 3 p.m.,Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burialin New Salem Church of Christ Cemetery.
Mrs. Case, 70, died Oct. 17, 2000, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Kansas City, Kan., on Sept. 26, 1930, toJack Leonard and Lannie Bohard Leonard.
She was a member of New Salem Church of Christ.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband,Clifton Case.
Survivors are her sons, Roger Dale Case and Delford H. Case,both of Brookhaven; her daughters, Barbara Catherine Morgan ofWesson and Rose Lagene Rutland of Brookhaven; her brothers, JoeLeonard and Jeff Leonard, both of Santa Marie, Calif.; and 10grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Thomas Dow Hall
Services for Thomas Dow Hall of Brookhaven were 11 a.m.,Wednesday, Oct. 18, at First United Methodist Church with burial inRiverwood Memorial Park. Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.
Mr. Hall, 76, died Oct. 16, 2000, of heart failure at BeverlyHealth Care. He was born in Widener, Ark., on Nov. 6, 1923, toOrville Jesse Hall and Ethel Waldrep Hall.
He was retired as the local manager of Entex. After hisretirement, he worked as a dispatcher for the Brookhaven PoliceDepartment until 1989. He was a member of First United MethodistChurch, where he was on the administrative board. He was a Navyveteran of WWII, serving with the Fourth Marine Division on IwoJima and other island invasions.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Mildred Hall of Brookhaven; his son, DonHall of Anderson, S.C.; his daughters, Lynn Hall Taylor and WandaHall Ballard, both of Brookhaven; his brothers, Jesse Hall andCurtis Hall, both of Monroe, La.; his sisters, Louise Robinson ofFerriday, La., and Alline Baxter and Mary Mooney, both of WestMonroe, La.; his grandchildren, Beth Ballard, Emily Ballard, AllanTaylor, Mark Taylor, and Jay Ballard, all of Brookhaven, and OwenHall and Clint Hall, both of Anderson, S.C.

Mr. Leonard, 80, died Oct. 16, 2000, at Covington CountyHospital. He was born in Lincoln County on April 25, 1920, toJoseph Hubert Leonard and Elizabeth May Leonard.
He was retired as owner of a salvage yard. He was a member ofMt. Moriah Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Clarence,Clifton, and Carl Leonard; and his stepson, Brent McGraw.
Survivors are his wife, Patricia Leonard of Bogue Chitto; hisson, Randy Leonard of Brookhaven; his stepsons, Herman McGraw ofBrookhaven and Ricky Lynn McGraw of Indianapolis, Ind.; hisdaughter, Debbie Elliot of Waverly, Tenn.; his stepdaughters,Dottie Stephens of Atlanta, Ga., Gaylene Caraway of Summit, andBetty Hutcherson and Patty Paige, both of Butler, Pa.; his sister,Marie Wallace of Bogue Chitto; his brother, J. B. Leonard of BogueChitto; and 11 stepgrandchildren.
Etta Marie Purser Marshall
Services for Etta Marie Purser Marshall of Meadville were 10:30a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Sarepta Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Marshall, 87, died Oct. 16, 2000, at St. Dominic’s Hospitalin Jackson. She was born in Simpson County on Nov. 7, 1912, to JohnPurser and Mae King Purser.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, CharlesErazmus Marshall; and two brothers and one sister.
Survivors are her sons, Charles Marshall and Rodney Marshall,both of Bryan, Texas; her daughter, Vivian Runnels of Meadville;and four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, onegreat-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.
