N. Pike girls stop Bogue Chitto

SUMMIT -Sonia Freeman ripped a home run and two singles to leadthe North Pike Lady Jaguars to a 6-3 win over the Bogue Chitto LadyBobcats Tuesday in softball action.

North Pike (8-3, 1-0) got two singles apiece from Micki JoeMoak, Candi Cockerham, Erin Boyd and Brittany Alexander. Collectinga double and a single was Brandy Hamilton. Melissa McKenziesingled.

Hamilton posted the win and Susan Reeves was the loser.

“We played much against Bogue Chitto than we did a couple ofweeks ago,” said North Pike coach SOnya Wallace. “Our defenselooked really good and our offense wasn’t bad. The girls werementally prepared to play tonight.”

In the junior varsity game, North Pike rallied to pullout a 13-11 win over Bogue Chitto. The winning pitcher was CaseyDickerson and the loser Wendy Fairchild.

Mattie Alexander powered the Lady Jaguars (3-4-1) with ahome run and a single. Two singles were hit by HeatherAlexander.

North Pike visits Enterprise Thursdaynight.
