Leland V. Brister
Services for Leland V. Brister of Gonzales, La., were Tuesday,Aug. 1, at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church with burial inGreenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge.
Mr. Brister, 68, died July 29, 2000, at Our Lady of the LakeRegional Medical Center. He was a native of Brookhaven.
He was a retired iron worker and member of Local 623 in BatonRouge. He was a member of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Vince and LillianThornhill Brister; his brothers, Clarence, Clifton, and BillBrister; and his sisters, Charlene Reeves and ChristineBrister.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Gautreaux Brister of Gonzales; hisdaughters, Velma Brister of Ogden, Utah, Judy Liotto of Galvez andLoyce LeBlanc of Sorrento; his sisters, Norman Brown and JoGrosskoff, both of Baton Rouge, Dean Saccaro of Cape Canaveral,Fla., and Loraine Hisaw of Gonzales; his brother, Cecil Brister ofBaton Rouge; and five grandchildren.

Services for Mary McCullough Britt of Wesson are 11 a.m.,Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Pleasant Ridge Pentecostal Church with burialin Newell Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday, Aug. 8, beginning at 5 p.m. at thechurch. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Britt, 81, died Aug. 7, 2000, at her residence. She wasborn in Lincoln County on March 5, 1909, to Martin McCullough andJulia Parker McCullough.
She was a homemaker and a former seamstress at Stahl Urban. Shewas a member of Pleasant Ridge Pentecostal Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, EdgarBritt.
Survivors are her nephews, Phil McCullough of Minnetonka, Minn.,Wesley McCullough of Lincoln, Texas, Ricky McCullough ofCollinsville, Marty McCullough of Ridgeland, and Kenneth McCulloughand Billy Earl McCullough, both of Baton Rouge; her niece, MelissaProgue of Meridian; and 13 great-nephews and threegreat-nieces.
