Farm Bureau, SW Pools notch Dixie Boys wins

Farm Bureau and Southwest Pools posted victories Wednesday nightin the Dixie Boys Baseball League City Championship Tournament atExchange Club Park.
Farm Bureau ripped Trustmark 12-4 and Southwest Pools held offState Bank for an 8-7 win.
The double-elimination tournament continues tonight as Randy’sSports plays Trustmark in an elimination game at 6 and unbeatenFarm Bureau faces once-beaten Southwest Pools at 8.
Southwest Pools 8, State Bank 7
Powering Southwest Pools with a single apiece were GuyOrr and Ronnie McNulty. McNulty earned the win, striking out threebatters and walking six.
Brooks Hall ripped a home run and a single for StateBank. W.T. King, Jonathon Strong and Josh Vance hit safely. JoshPatrick fanned three and struck out six in the loss.
Farm Bureau 12, Trustmark 4
Mitch Huckaby doubled for Farm Bureau. Kenny Smith andAlex Davis collected two singles apiece. David Cuevas, Lee Newell,Jon Goldman and Stephen Mckinney finished with a single apiece.Newell was the winning pitcher with three strikeouts and fourwalks.
Trustmark got a home run from Zack Ray. Steven Gatesdoubled and singled. Eric Terry and Adam Ogden singled. Rayabsorbed the loss with two walks.
