After a search of the area, Brookhaven police were unable to find a black and white striped tiger on a chain that someone reported seeing near the Brookhaven Country Club Tuesday night.

The call came into dispatch about 6:44 p.m.

“Somebody called stating they saw a black and white tiger in the middle of the road,” Police Chief Bobby Bell said.

The dispatcher told officers the caller said the tiger was on a leash, “and wasn’t a dog.”

Bell said officers searched the area.

“We didn’t locate anything.”

Bell said officers check out every call, no matter how farfetched it may sound.

“We respond to the calls no matter what the nature.”
