WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln quarterback Daniel Fitzwater and kicker Greg Nickles have been named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Offensive and Special Teams players of the week respectively. Fitzwater and and Nickles both had standout performances in No. 10 Co-Lin’s 44-30 win over Northwest in the MACJC semifinals on Saturday.

Against Northwest his 25-yard scoring strike to Courtney Foy tied the game up early in the fourth quarter. Fitzwater also had scoring throws to Germie Martin and De’Lance Turner. The 46-yard kick was a career long for the East Rankin Academy graduate. Nickles is 13-for-16 on field goal attempts this season and 38-for-43 on the point after kicks. He was previously named player of the week after a 41-21 Co-Lin win over Hinds.
