Dickerson signs with Co-Lin
Zach Dickerson is taking his baseball talents to the next level. Brookhaven Academy pitcher/infielder/outfielder has signed a baseball scholarship with the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolves.
Dickerson, a right-hander, signed his official scholarship papers Friday morning in the Brookhaven Academy Library. He is the son of Tim and Donna Dickerson.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to play baseball at Co-Lin,” Dickerson said. “I really like Co-Lin’s baseball program, and I am ready to start playing for Coach Clay Smith.”
Dickerson mentioned he wants to pursue a career in physical therapy/athletic trainer. Currently as a senior at BA, Dickerson has a 3.0 grade-point average.
“We are excited to add Zach to our club next year,” said Co-Lin baseball head coach Clay Smith. “He will be the guy we can go to out of the bullpen often. Zach is very well coached and he will do a great job for us.”
As a junior, Dickerson batted .310 for the Cougars. He accounted for 10 RBI, two home runs and three doubles. On the mound, he posted a 1.26 ERA with 5-2 record in 50 innings pitched.
“Zach has been such a pleasure to coach,” Brookhaven Academy Baseball Coach Casey Edwards said. “You won’t find a more respectful, good-hearted, hard-working kid out there. I’m excited to see him join Co-Lin’s staff next year.”
