Lady Bears crush Franklin County

The undefeated West Lincoln Lady Bears overpowered the Franklin County Lady Bulldogs to secure a 11-1 victory in five innings of work Tuesday night in slowpitch softball action.

“I am very proud of the way the girls are playing,” said West Lincoln coach Andrew Redd.

The Lady Bears (10-0) begin Region 7-2A action Thursday as they prepare to host the Pisgah Lady Dragons. Junior varsity action start at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity contest at 6 p.m.

W. Lincoln 11, Franklin Co. 1 

West Lincoln picked up where they left off of last Saturday as they provided conducted another hitting clinic against Franklin County and stormed out to secure a 10-0 lead in four innings of action.

The Lady Bulldogs managed to get on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth inning by pushing across one run. The Lady Bears answered with another run in the bottom of the fifth inning to end the game on a 10-rule run.

MaKennah Redd tossed the win for the Lady Bears with one strikeout and no walks.

Shelly Case suffered the setback for the Lady Bulldogs with no strikeouts and one walk.

Hanna Moak powered West Lincoln’s offense with a home run. Micah Redd contributed two doubles. Millane Lewis and MaKennah Redd provided a double and a single each. Alli Mullins and Anna Brooke Davis ripped a double each. Hitting safely were Brianna Fauver, Malori Hall and Addie Spring.

Kaitlyn Smith was the top hitter for Franklin County with a double and a single. Alyssa Case had two singles. Macy Brabham, Hailey McDaniels and Cheyenne Higgs hit safely.

In JV action, West Lincoln defeated Franklin County 10-2.

Ashley Thomas directed the Lady Bears’ offense with two doubles and two singles. McKenzie Pyles contributed a double and three singles. Sara Jane Doty provided a double and two singles. MaKayla Shelton and Addie Spring had a pair of singles. Anna Brooke Davis hit a double.
