Funeral services for Alyce Pearl Pitts of Wesson are 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Beauregard United Methodist Church with burial in Wesson Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Tuesday, May 13, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive.
Mrs. Pitts, 87, went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, May 11, 2014, following a lengthy illness. She was born on May 10, 1927, in Wesson to C.A. Ray and Pearl Hennington Ray.
She was self-employed. She was a longtime member of Beauregard United Methodist Church in Beauregard and also a member of the William Oliver Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Buell R. Carty, Jr.; an infant son at birth; and brothers, C.A. “Foots” Ray, Jr. and Wilmer H. Ray.
Survivors are her three sons, Buell R. “Rusty” Carty, III and his wife, Billie, of Wesson, Phillip R. Carty of Wesson and Joseph S. Carty and wife, Sherri, of Madison; four grandchildren, Dr. Leslie Anne Carty and Troy Edward “Eddie” Carty, both of Wesson and Mary Catherine Carty and Caleb A. Carty, both of Madison.
The family would like to give special thanks to her personal caregiver Angelee Glasper of Beauregard and all the staff with Southern Care Hospice.
