Funeral services for Laken Michelle Bailey Kennedy of McComb are 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Southway Baptist Church with burial in Arlington Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto. Jones Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was Monday, May 5, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Southway Baptist Church and continues from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Laken, 26, died May 2, 2014, due to an automobile accident. She was born on Dec. 29, 1987, in Hazlehurst to Don E. Bailey and Connie Prestridge Kennedy.

She graduated from Brookhaven High School and Co-Lin Jr. College with a degree in cosmetology. She loved doing hair and makeup, going to the creek and doing anything outside with her friends. She was in the band in school and was a cheerleader and flag girl.

Preceding her in death were her grandfather, Larry Prestridge and step-grandfather, Charlie Kennedy.

Survivors are her father, Don E. Bailey of McComb; mother, Connie Prestridge Kennedy, and step-father, Ray Kennedy;  two sisters, Tiffany Bowman and Taylor Kennedy; step-brother, Chris Kennedy, and wife, Edith; grandmother, Beatrice Jones Kennedy; and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, family and friends.

Pallbearers include Aron Brister, Mike Norris, Bruce Prestridge, Chris Loyd, Rusty Prestridge and Zachary Loyd.
