RICHTON – The Loyd Star Lady Hornets braved the long bus drive in Monday’s horrible weather to collect a big Game One victory over the Richton Lady Rebels 5-3 in the second round of the Class 2A softball playoffs.
“Glad to get the win,” Loyd Star coach Jan Delaughter. “Overall, we were not ready to play. Richton did a good job hitting the ball. We need to regroup quickly if we want to close it out tonight.”
The Lady Hornets (21-2) will host the Lady Rebels tonight for Game Two starting at 6 p.m., followed by Game Three if it is necessary.
