Panthers feast on Hazlehurst

The Brookhaven Panthers feasted on the Hazlehurst Indians to claim a 10-0 win Tuesday night in baseball action.
The Panthers (12-7, 5-0) will return to action Friday as they prepare to host the Pearl River Central Blue Devils for a big Region 6-5A baseball contest. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 7 p.m.

Ole Brook quickly went to work and knocked out the Hazlehurst Indians in five innings of action.
Reed Jones pitched the win for the Panthers with three strikeouts and one walk in the four hit shut out.
LaDarrious Williams suffered the loss for the Indians with one strikeout and eight walks. Frank Thigpen (1K, 0BB) also saw some action in relief.
Nick Kesler sparked Ole Brooks’ offense with a triple and a single. Landon McCullough fueled the flames with a double and a single. Scotty Bateman contributed a double. Hitting safely was Jones.
Jarvis Warner was the top hitter for the Indians with a double. Johnkil Skipper, Trivarius Brown and Semaj James provided a single apiece.
