Lady Bears claim two victories

The West Lincoln Lady Bears are enjoying a six-game winning streak after capturing two big victories in softball action Friday and Saturday.
In Friday’s contest, the Lady Bears traveled to Summit to take on Tylertown and defeated the Tylertown Lady Chiefs 10-4.
In Saturday action, West Lincoln enjoyed a great “for pink” awareness day as they claimed a 7-3 win over the Salem Lady Wildcats.
“The girls played really well both games,” said West Lincoln coach Andrew Redd. “We had a great turn out for our pink awareness day and I would also like to thank Southwest Community College for letting us use their field against Tylertown.”
The Lady Bears (8-3, 3-0) return to district action Tuesday as they host Lincoln County/new region foes, the Loyd Star Lady Hornets. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6 p.m.
West Lincoln 10, Tylertown 4
Micah Redd was the winning pitcher for the Lady Bears with four strikeouts and no walks. Malori Hall (3K, 0BB) saw some action in relief at Southwest Community College softball field.
Angel Thornton suffered the loss for the Lady Chiefs with six strikeouts and no walks.
Peyton White was the offensive leader at the plate for West Lincoln with a triple, two doubles and a single. Brianna Fauver contributed three singles. Heather Moak provided a double and a single. Layton Sills and Redd hit a pair of singles. Destiny Allen had a single.
In JV action, West Lincoln won 7-2 over Tylertown.
Megan Gerald pitched the victory for the Lady Bears with five strikeouts and three walks.
Millane Lewis and Gerald were the top hitters for West Lincoln with a triple and a single apiece. Demesha Deer and Cadie Maxwell had a triple each. Hitting safely were Lexie Leggett and Addie Spring.
West Lincoln 7, Salem 3
Malori Hall tossed the victory for West Lincoln with 10 strikeouts and two walks.
Darrien Dykes absorbed the loss for the Lady Wildcats with two strikeouts and one walk.
Fauver powered the Lady Bears; offense with a double and a single. Hall ripped two singles. White and Sills hit a single each.
Dykes was the top slugger for Salem with a triple. Rachel Bond, Lauren Burch, Zoie Bridges and Brittney Bergeron hit safely.
In JV action, The Lady Bears were 9-3 winners over the Lady Wildcats.
White clinched the win for West Lincoln with no strikeouts and seven walks.
Leggett directed the Lady Bears at the plate with a home run and a single. McKenzie Pyles provided a double and a single. Maxwell had a double. Makennah Redd and Lewis hit safely.
