Funeral services for Ruth Williams Forehand of Monticello were 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, at Monticello United Methodist Church with burial in Bosque Bello. Wilson Funeral Home of Monticello is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation was Monday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Forehand, 88, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at the Lawrence County Hospital.
She graduated from Taylor County High School in Florida, class of 1943, and attended Mississippi College in Clinton. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education and was an English teacher at Bogue Chitto High School in the late 1970s and 1980s.
She and her husband, Kenneth, were married for 69 years. Even though she was a working mom, she found time to enjoy her family as a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother who will be missed dearly. She also enjoyed the hobbies of knitting and crocheting.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Grace Tappan Williams and Valerious Miller Williams; brothers, Lovette Edward Williams, Harold Chester Williams and Robert Lewis Williams; and a sister, Mary Frances Fillmon.
Survivors are her husband, Kenneth McCaskill Forehand of Monticello; sons, Kenneth McCaskill Forehand Jr., Terrence Eugene Forehand, both of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Daniel Miller Forehand of Brookhaven; sister, Valeria Williams Roberts of Jacksonville, Fla., grandchildren, Kevin M. Forehand, Carrie E. Green, Terrence Forehand Jr. and Daniel C. Forehand; great-grandchildren, Treska M. Green, Carmen E. Green, Kyle Forehand and Cassidy Forehand.
