I-55 southbound closed by wrecks at Copiah-Lincoln County line

Interstate 55 southbound is closed due to two tractor-trailer trucks jack-knifing at the Copiah/Lincoln county line, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety announced at 5:22 p.m. Tuesday.

Also, northbound I-55 is limited to one lane in the same area due to a third big rig crash, the announcement stated. Motorists are advised to avoid this area, if possible.

Also, the Mississippi Department of Transportation reported the following road and bridge closures due to winter weather conditions in the Lincoln County area at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday:
