Memorial services for David S. Lovell of Brookhaven are 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service.

Visitation is Sunday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Riverwood.

Mr. Lovell, 87, died Dec. 8, 2013. He was born Nov. 4, 1926, to Ollie and Ruth Fore Lovell.

He was the owner/operator of Edgewood, where he lived and worked for more than 58 years.

A native of Brookhaven, he finished at Brookhaven High School, went to the University of Mississippi and eventually attended art school in California.

He is considered one of Brookhaven’s greatest creators of interior and exterior design works and an authority on antiques. He is described by friends as a very multi-talented person who was generous with his talents. You can recognize his design work on many of the buildings in Brookhaven. He has designed and worked with contractors on changing or updating several of Brookhaven’s finest homes and buildings. Many of the homes and businesses in Brookhaven bare his mark.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Ollie “Buddy” Lovell; and a sister, Ada Claire Walker.

His survivors include his nephew, Billy Walker and wife Ondra; his nieces, Karen Glass and husband, Roger, Kathy Hammons and husband Jackie; sister-in-law Maureen Lovell; great-nephews Dustin Walker and wife, Stacy, Shan Walker and wife Heather; and great-niece, Stephanie Alfano and husband, Phillip.
