Funeral services for Myrtis Baker of Brookhaven are 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, at St. James M.B. Church with burial in Carver Heights Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Friday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., and Family Hour will be from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Baker died Nov. 22, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was born in Lincoln County on Feb. 11, 1924, to Nathaniel McCallum and Missouria Thomas McCallum.

She was a member of St. James M. B. Church. She was a kind and unassuming woman who loved the Lord. She was a home

maker, and her only job was to love and nurture her children.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, John Baker Sr.; her sons, John Baker Jr., Eddie Howard Baker and Kenny Ray Baker; her sisters, Alberta Skinner and Juanita Spearman; her brothers, Henry Lee McCallum, R.T. McCallum, Emman

uel McCallum, Versie McCallum; grandsons, Jeremy Baker and Gregory Sandifer; mother-in-law, Nannie Baker, and father-in-law, Gilbert Baker Sr.

Survivors are her daughters, Celestine Baker Watts and husband, Carl L. Watts, Bobbie Wilson-Moore and Jeanette Bridges; sisters, Inez Williams, Ida Harris, Queen Hardiman, Mary Washington and Mary Nell Gowder; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews and other relatives.
