WESSON – The Wesson Cobras honored their varsity athletes with a fall banquet Thursday night to commemorate the football, softball and cheerleading squads.

Wesson head football coach Ronald Greer welcomed the large crowd to the banquet held at the Wesson Attendance Center cafeteria .

Quarterback Tyler Christmas received the Most Valuable Player Award in the football. Bailey Middleton were selected Most Valuable Players in softball. Elise Whittington received the Cheerleader of the Year Award for cheerleading.

Seniors in each sport was recognized with awards for their effort. All team members received certificates for their participation.

Football Awards

Iron Cobra Award: Kendrick Brown and Dillon Blaylock. Jim Lowery Attitude Award: Dustin “Melvin” Jackson. Coaches Award: Blake Burns. Most Valuable Player Award: Tyler Christmas. Senior Awards: Nick Lewis, Akintayo Oyebola, C.J. Viramontez, Dustin Jackson, Otis Smith, Javoris Smith, Mitchell Hughes, Josh Francois, Luis Mellado, Adam Hamilton and Chace Twiner.

Softball Awards 

Best Offensive Player: Bailey Middleton and Kaitlyn Smith. Best Defensive Player: Sarah Robinson. Hustle Award: Kayla Britt. Most Versatile Player: Kayla Britt. Most Improved Award: Harmoni Ashley.
