Nearly all tests related to the eventual identification of a body found in Brookhaven have been completed, and a final ID is likely sometime this week, Lincoln County deputy sheriff and coroner’s investigator, John Riggs said Saturday.
“We are about 80 percent done with all tests related to the victim’s identity,” Riggs said.
Investigators now are awaiting the results of other reports that will likely help them sort out what they consider to be a “suspicious death,” including the toxicology report and blood tests, according to Riggs.
“We are running a number of tests, tests that can take days to get back, in the interest of getting to the bottom of this case,” Riggs said.
The Brookhaven police discovered the body, which had burns on it, Wednesday on Washington Street some time between 4:30 and 5 p.m.
