B.G. ‘Bob’ Godbold

Funeral services for B.G. “Bob” Godbold, 82, of Bogue Chitto, are 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at Riverwood Family Funeral Service
Mr. Godbold, 82, died Oct. 9, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center.
He was born July 25, 1931, in Mississippi to Sherell and Frances Kyzar Godbold.
Mr. Godbold worked 34 years for Illinois Central Railroad as an inspector. After his retirement from the railroad, he found a creative passion and established Willow Lane Stained Glass where he and his wife designed and built glass creations for 27 years. He was known as “the stained glass man from Lincoln County.” Their work is displayed in a number of churches and homes throughout the south Mississippi area. He served in the U.S. Air Force and the Korean War. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Marvin Godbold.
Survivors include his wife Jan Greer; his daughters, Vicky Godbold and husband Russell of Terry and Gabrielle Godbold Burke and husband Brian of Ruth; his grandchildren, Megon Poirrier Ladner and husband Jeff of Terry, Amanda, Sarah, Abby and Molly Burke of Ruth; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Ashton Ladner of Terry; his sisters, Carolyn Godbold Avery and husband K.C. of Springfield, Va.; his brother Don Godbold and wife Sue of Brookhaven; and his sister-in-law, Dot Godbold of McComb.
