Diana Fife Diffrient, born May 19, 1938, passed from this lifesurrounded by loving family on Oct. 19, 2008, following a longillness. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother andgreat-grandmother, with a wealth of extended family andfriends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. DiffrientJr.; her father, Dr. Walter Fife; her mother, Helen Fife Koehn; andher infant sister, Helen Elizabeth Fife.

Diana is survived by her sons, Anthony Sones and wife, DiAnn, ofDiamondhead, Randall Sones and wife, Nadine, of Brookhaven, JonSones and wife, Cathy, of Gilbert, Ariz., Jimmy Sones and wife,Carla, of Brookhaven, and Kevin Sones and wife, Polly, of Clinton,La.; her 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; herbrothers, Dr. Walter Daniel Fife and wife, Cathlyn, of Renton, Wa.,Jon Fife, of Mesa, Ariz., Wilson Fife and wife, Evelyn, of Bay St.Louis, and her sister, JoAnne Brockhoff and husband, Joseph, ofDiamondhead.

Growing up in New Orleans, she had the advantage of a loving andactive family that traveled and spent time together. As adescendent of prominent Mormon pioneers, she was proud of herheritage and had a love of genealogy. She was a very active in TheChurch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served invarious callings with children, youth and music. She spent her lifein the service of others. She married and moved to the coast makingthe Bay Waveland area her home for more than 40 years. The pride ofher life was her five sons. When asked about having all boys, shewould say, “I would have had it no other way.” She lived lifefully.

Diana loved work in an active life. She was a hairdresser andthe owner of Diana’s Hair Artists in Diamondhead for many years.She loved plants, gardening, learning crafts and family history.She was creative, sharing things made in macramé, carpentry, cakedecorating and needlework. She and her dear husband, Bobby,operated Diffrient Ceramics in Waveland then later moved toBrookhaven, where she used her talents to paint and teach othersthe beautiful art of ceramics. This was part of the life theyshared in Brookhaven for more than 10 years.

She will be missed by family and friends. She leaves a legacy oflove, caring and service. Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 24,from 6 until 9 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home on North JacksonStreet. Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 25 at theWaveland Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints inWaveland. Interment will be in the cemetery of the Red Star Ward ofthe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brookhaven.
