Panthers rip W.T. White

WACO, Tex. – The Brookhaven Panther baseball team knocked offW.T. White 10-1 Thursday night in the Waco Baseball Tournament.W.T. White is a Class 5A team out of the Dallas area.
The Panthers, coached by Randy Spring, battles Faith Christiantoday at 5 p.m. followed by Midway at 7:30. Saturday, Brookhaventackles Lubbock Coronado at 11 a.m.
“We capitalized on all four of their errors,” said Spring of thewin.
Paxton King was the winning pitcher, fanning 4 batters, walking1 and allowing 4 hits and 1 earned run. Cole Newell worked thefinal inning.
Elliott Warren and King scored in the first inning to give OleBrook a 2-0 lead.
Following 2 scoreless innings, Brookhaven went up 3-0 on scoreby Cody Ratcliff in the fourth.
In the fifth inning, Bud Britt, Cole Newell, Mitch Pappas, R.J.Jenkins, Brandon Foster and Ratcliff scored to push the visitorslead to 9-0.
Newell scored his second run of the game in the sixth. WT. Whiteended the shutout with 1 run in the bottom of the sixth.
