God’s Words tells us “how wonderful it is to find a wife” you are to love and cherish one another.

As this love story unfolds, it is a cold and a happy day in December. Willie Humphries and his bride, Allie Mae Jackson, are about to get married. This wedding will take place on the front porch of their new home.

The big day was, Dec. 24, 1939, and the minister officiating the ceremony was the late Rev. Ed Smith of the Siloam Community.

MaMa Allie Mae said that they did not invite any special guests to their wedding but as the day progressed, people got word throughout the communities and when the wedding ceremony was performed they had several guests there. As of today Willie and Allie Mae Humphries have been married for 73 years. They have been blessed with four children: Willie Mae Reed (James) of Gulfport, John Humphries (Josie), Kirby Humphries (Carolyn) and Flora Hamilton (David), all of Brookhaven.

They are proud grandparents, great-grandparents, and great-great-grandparents. God has blessed the Humphries, who are known affectionately to their family as Ma-Ma and Pa-Pa to see their fourth generation, which makes their family five generations deep. This is truly a blessing from God.

May God’s blessings keep on flowing in your lives and in the lives of your family members and friends. I, Carolyn Humphries, am happy to be a part of your family.

Sincere and heartfelt sympathy is extended to the family of the late Dorothy Richardson who was funeralized at Thayer Church of Christ at Bogue Chitto. Mrs. Dorothy was married to the late Marzell Richardson and they were the parents of nine children. She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who love and miss her dearly.

To the family of the late Marsha Ann Dillon who was funeralized recently at Bethel AME Church. Marsha attended the public schools of Brookhaven. She accepted Christ as her personal savior. She was a homemaker and was disabled. Marsha leaves to cherish her fond and loving memories, her family members and friends who loved her dearly.

To the family of the late Sally Ann Godbolt of Bogue Chitto, who was funeralized recently at New Zion Union M. B. Church. Sally was a graduate of Bogue Chitto High School. She was married to the late Rev. Chris Godbolt and they were the parents of four children. Sally is already sadly missed and her loving memories will forever live on in the hearts and the minds of her family and friends who loved her.

To Janie L. Hill Magee and her family in the recent loss of her son John Magee who was funeralized recently at Beulah Chapel Church. John is sadly missed by his family and friends who love him.

May God’s love, strength and his guidance shine down upon these bereaved families and all other bereaved families who are mourning at this time. Remember that God is God and he is a mighty force. He will take care of each of you.
