Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Sudie Palomarez withdrew Mondayfrom the race for Post Two Justice Court Judge, said Lincoln CountyCircuit Clerk Terry Lynn Watkins.

Palomarez cited her duties as the county’s Drug Abuse ResistanceEducation (DARE) in requesting her name be taken off the DemocraticParty primary ballot, Watkins said. Palomarez was unavailable forcomment.

With Palomarez’s withdrawal, long-time incumbent Judge B.J.Price is the only candidate to qualify in the race so far. Thequalifying deadline is Feb. 28.
