Charles R. ‘Ploochie’ Ratliff

Funeral services for Charles R. “Ploochie” Ratliff, ofBrookhaven, are 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 2, at Brookhaven FuneralHome Chapel on Natchez Drive, with burial in Rosehill Cemetery inBrookhaven.
There will also be a memorial service for Virginia Ratliff at thesame time as Mr. Ratliff’s service.
Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Ratliff, 87, died June 29, 2010, at G. V. (Sonny) Montgomery VAMedical Center in Jackson.
He was born in Brookhaven on Aug. 15, 1922, to L.P. Ratliff Sr. andMarie Warren Ratliff.
He was retired, and had been the co-owner of Ratliff Sheet Metaland Air Conditioning. He was a charter member of BrookhavenExchange Club, and was treasurer for the club for 42 years. He wasa United States Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a member ofFirst Baptist Church in Brookhaven.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, VirginiaRatliff; his sisters, Sis Allgood and Jan Kessler; his brothers,Jerry Ratliff, L.P. Ratliff Jr., William W. Ratliff and N.A.”Buddy” Ratliff.
Survivors are his daughter, Suzanne Ratliff, of Memphis, Tenn.; hisbrothers, Marion L. “Buck” Ratliff and wife, Agnes, of Wesson; hissister, Mary Dee Fields, of Arvada, Colo.; his brother-in-law, CabyByrne, of Clinton; and his sister-in-law, Mary Ratliff, ofBrookhaven.
