Thrift Home Care wins Majors championship

Thrift Home Care defeated Stan King GM Super Store 9-8 Tuesdaynight in the championship finals of the Lincoln County Dixie YouthBaseball Major League Tournament on Bank of Franklin Field. ThriftHome Care met Stan King for the third time in thedouble-elimination tournament, winning another 1-run decision in 2of the 3 encounters.
In the AAA championship game last night, Betsy Smith Propertiesrebounded to beat Farm Bureau 13-3 in 4 innings after Farm Bureauwon last night’s opener 10-5.
In the AA championship, played on Check Exchange of MississippiField last night, State Bank outscored Bank of Brookhaven13-10.
All-Star teams were announced last night and begindistrict/subdistrict play later this month. Lincoln County willhost the North 11s subdistrict, starting June 26.
Thrift Home Care (11-8) and Stan King were both runners-up intheir respective leagues during the regular Major Leagueseason.

Levi Redd (5 Ks, 4 BB) started on the mound for the championsand lasted 4 innings. Lorenzo Smith (3 Ks, 2 BB) picked up the winin relief.
William King (5 Ks, 3 BB) started for Stan King. Caleb Brown (3K, 1 BB) took the loss in relief, entering in the fifth.
Thrift Home Care finished with 13 hits and Stan King had 7.Leading the victory was Smith with 3 hits. Edrick Alsworth, CarterCulbertson, Josh Hardin and Redd each had 2 hits. Penn Wilson andColton Welch singled.
Hardin hit a 2-run single in the top of the sixth to put THC ontop.
Leading Stan King at the plate was John Ethan Coleman with 2doubles. Also hitting safely were Caleb Brown, Clay Crozier,Tristan Peavey, Matt Thomas and King.
