Services for Mary Bacot Manning of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Friday, Jan. 31, at Episcopal Church of the Mediator in McComb withburial in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb. Catchings Funeral Home isin charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Friday from 9-11 a.m., at the church.
Ms. Manning, 97, died Jan. 29, 2003, at Beverly HealthCare-Brookhaven. She was born in McComb on Sept. 20, 1905, to ByronLevi Bacot and Jenny Curry Bacot.
She was a retired school teacher from McComb Schools, where shetaught for over 40 years. She was a 1927 graduate of MississippiUniversity for Women. She was a lifelong member of Episcopal Churchof the Mediator, where she was baptized as an infant, and was amember of the choir and Vestry.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her sister, Ruby BacotFowler; and her brothers, Aubrey M. Bacot and Robert C. Bacot.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and JerryBreeland of Brookhaven; her grandchildren and their spouses,Durwood and Beth Breeland, Jeri Breeland Swink and David, PeggyBreeland Opiela and Ken, all of Brookhaven, and Dr. MarjorieBreeland Barron and Dr. Freddie Barron, both of Knoxville, Tenn.;her great-grandchildren, Nathan Barron, Christopher Barron, JamisonRoane, Brennan Breeland, Ryan Breeland, and AnnaRachel Breeland;her nephew, Byron Fowler of McComb; her great nieces and nephews,Linda Fowler Kemp, Shelly Fowler, and Cary Fowler, all of BatonRouge, La.; and her very special friend, Toy Palmer.
