Services for Osborne Evans, of Monticello, were 3 p.m. Sunday,Dec. 3, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello with burial inMonticello Municipal Cemetery.

Mr. Evans, 81, died Dec. 1, 2006, at Lawrence County Hospital.He was born on May 28, 1925, to Johnnie Evans and Eva SmithEvans.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a retiredpipeliner and a member of Monticello Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Hazel Evans;and his stepson.

Survivors are his sisters, Johnnie Strong, of Silver Creek, andReba Hammond, of Hammond, La.
