Services for Joel Gainey Case, of Smithdale, are 10 a.m.Thursday, Sept. 15 at Riverwood Family Funeral Home Chapel withburial in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Case, 48, died Sept. 13, 2005, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born on Oct. 15, 1956, toBilly Joe Case and Frances Faye Russell Case.

He worked in the oil field and for Denham Springs State Police.He was a member of Ramah Baptist Church. He served in theMarines.

Preceding him in death were his father, Billy Joe Case; hisaunt, Pat Redd; his grandparents, Versie and Dora Mae Allen andMattie Lee Case.

Survivors are his mother, Frances Faye Russell Case; hisgrandfather, Versie Case, of Smithdale; his sister, Billie Ashleyand her husband Toby, of Smithdale; his nephew, Garrett Ashley; anda special childhood friend, Melissa Johnston Lofton.

Services for Woodrow Hanshew, of Sontag, are 11 a.m. Thursday,Sept. 15 at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial in Nola ChurchCemetery.

Mr. Hanshew, 85, died Sept. 12, 2005, at Monticello CommunityCare Center. He was born in Arkansas on Jan. 20, 1920, to HenryHanshew and Maude Moore Hanshew.

He was a welder’s helper. He was a member of Nola BaptistChurch.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Nonerle Hanshew, of Sontag; hisdaughters, Shirlene Stephens, of Silver Creek, Jan Smith, of Grady,Ala., and Trish Davis, of Monticello; and his son, Jackie Hanshew,of Sontag; his sister, Violet Evans, of Missouri; his brothers,Cecil Hanshew, of Florida, and Arthur Hanshew, of California; 11grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jones, 85, died Sept. 11, 2005, at Riverland Medical Centerin Ferriday, La. She was born on Aug. 16, 1920, to Walter NathanielMotley and Gertude Billups Motley.

She was a retired teacher. She was a member of St. Mark M.B.Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers, Walter”Bud” Motley Jr. and Malcolm Motley; and her sisters, Josie Knightand Freda Motley.

Survivors are her husband, Louis Jones Sr., of Natchez; her son,Louis “Butch” Jones Jr., of Jackson; her daughter, Cassandra”Shawn” Wells, of Jackson; eight grandchildren; and sixgreat-grandchildren.

Mr. Martin, 51, died Sept. 10, 2005, in McComb. He was born inMcComb on June 26, 1954, to Lamar Martin Sr. and Nella MixonMartin, of Fernwood.

He was an assistant physical therapist and a respiratorytherapist having worked at Parklane Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Hewas a member of the Christian faith.

Survivors are his mother; one sister, Amanda Rushing, of McComb;one niece; two nephews; six great-nieces and nephews and numerouscousins.
