Services for Arthur Young Lipsey of Columbus were 10 a.m.,Wednesday, July 25, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial inFriendship Cemetery.

Mr. Lipsey, 72, died July 23, 2001, at Baptist Memorial HospitalGolden Triangle. He was born in Columbus on May 3, 1929, to RobertLynn Lipsey Sr. and Annie Rhodes Lipsey.

He was retired as secretary and treasurer for the City ofColumbus. He was a member of First Christian Church of Columbus,where he was a deacon and former treasurer.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his son, YoungLipsey.

Survivors are his wife, Dot Lipsey of Columbus; his daughters,Patrice Palmer of Athens, Ga., and Lisa Rainer of Brookhaven; hissons, Scott Lipsey of Starkville and Jeff Lipsey of Columbus; hissister, Marianne Graves of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and his brother,Robert Lipsey Jr. of Jackson.
