In a special called meeting Wednesday afternoon, the Brookhaven School District Board of Trustees approved the hiring of 14 staff members.

     The staff additions are as follows:

     • Mamie Martin Elementary – Two teacher assistants, one first grade teacher, two kindergarten teachers and one special education teacher.

     • Brookhaven Elementary – One third grade teacher and one fourth grade teacher.

     • Lipsey Middle School – One sixth grade teacher and one teacher’s assistant.

     • Alexander Jr. High School – One campus enforcement officer.

     • Brookhaven High School – One science teacher.

     • Technical Center – One culinary arts teacher and one carpentry teacher
