Missing man found dead at truck stop

A Lincoln County trucker missing since Friday was located at atruck stop near Alexandria, La., Wednesday night, officialssaid.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Johnny Hallsaid Ollie B. Magee, 58, of 2148 Pipeline Road in Sontag, was foundin his rig Wednesday night, apparently dead of natural causes.
Hall said officials were able to pinpoint Magee’s whereaboutsbased on his phone records. He said the cell tower that conductedMagee’s last call was located almost exactly at the spot whereMagee was found.
“The tower site was right on where he last used his cell phone,”Hall said.
The truck stop is on Old Boyce Road, right off Interstate 49.Hall said foul play is not suspected at this time, though the areawhere Magee was found is still being treated as a crime scene.
“The truck was secure, the door was locked, and it looked likehe climbed back in the sleeper,” Hall said. “According to thefamily he didn’t have any previous medical conditions that theyknew about. I couldn’t tell you at this point how long he’s beenthere.”
Magee was last seen in his red 1998 Peterbilt truck in Carthage,Texas, dropping off a load around 4 p.m. Friday. He had plansSaturday at home, according to family members.
Magee’s body will be sent for autopsy, Hall said. Officials saidWilliams Funeral Home will handle his services, though arrangementsare incomplete.
