Funeral services for Dorothy C. Brawley, of Brookhaven, are 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on N. Jackson Street, with burial in Easthaven Cemetery.

     Mrs. Brawley, 86, died Aug. 30, 2012, at Haven Hall Health Care Center. She was born in Brookhaven on Sept. 22, 1925, to Willie Doc and Nellie Button Case.

     She was a member of Easthaven Baptist Church and of the Order of the Easter Star in Louisiana, where she retired as a cafeteria worker with the LaSalle Parish school system.

     Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Virgil Ray Brawley Sr.; two sisters; two half-brothers; one stepdaughter; three grandsons; and one step-great-granddaughter.

     Survivors are her son, Virgil Ray Brawley Jr. and wife, Anne, of Jackson; daughter, Beckie Callender and husband, Darrell, of Brookhaven; stepdaughters, Pat Jackson and husband, Jimmy, of Florida, and Barbara Lindsey and husband, Thomas, of Laurel; five grandchildren, Melanie Pollan, Dara Evans, Tracy Ezell, Brett DeLaughter and Travis Brawley; six step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
